"Digital Transformation" - New Initiative funded by UNESCO

The project "Digital Transformation" is carried out by LEPL Creative Georgia and it aims to increase access to the digitization of cultural organizations and develop relevant skills. UNESCO funds the project.

In today's era, where the digital environment is part of our everyday life, cultural organizations need to be fully represented in the digital world. The project will explore the creative industries' needs and opportunities for digitalization, raise awareness about digitalization, and train creative industries professionals and cultural organization employees to increase their relevant competence.

"Digital Transformation" will cover several stages and will take place in September-December 2024. The first phase of the project includes research that will identify the needs and challenges in the field of digitalization in creative industries, as well as find international good practices that can be integrated into the Georgian space. It will also examine the interconnectedness of digitalization and tourism to raise awareness about the benefits of digital visibility and representation. The second phase of the project includes the drafting of a training module based on the results of the research and implementation of the training for the representatives of creative industries sectors. This activity aims to introduce various methods following research-based findings in order to integrate the digital world into the daily activities of cultural and creative organizations. The third stage of the initiative includes a) printing a training module and sharing it with cultural organizations digitally and physically, which will be a so-called guiding document for representatives of the creative industries, and b) the creation and testing of a demo version for participating cultural organizations within the framework of training.

"The Creative Georgia team is actively working in the creative industries to strengthen research and capacity-building opportunities. The UNESCO-funded project "Digital Transformation" is a very good opportunity to help various sectors in the process of digitalization, including raising awareness about digital transformation and mechanisms, sharing existing benefits, and supporting the development of relevant skills and increased competence among our project participants. Our team is very pleased to support this initiative by UNESCO and together we strive to create a better environment for the development of creative industries" - Tinatin Bagashvili, Project Manager.
